In the Tudor period, "beauty is pain" was more than just an expression. Many famous Tudor lives were claimed by poisonous beauty regimes- Kitty Fisher, Maria Gunning, and even Queen Elizabeth the 1st were victims of the fabled 'Venetian Ceruse', a finishing powder made from white lead. Boasting total purity in the face of competitors' inferior products, which were thought to be bulked up with chalk, it seems "less poisonous" wasn't on trend at the time.
This fragrance is a nod to those who lost their lives in pursuit of an alabaster glow befitting a true period bombshell.
Profile Description:
A white powder accord comprised of natural heliotropin and nitromusks is layered with a vintage inspired chypre structure, including natural linalool from bois de rose, green oakmoss, and civet paste.
