A white shirt dissolves whatever privacy you thought you had in the rain—clinging to the skin, translucent and raw. And yet, it holds the memory of humid afternoons, markers bleeding into the weave on the last day of school, and the quiet comfort of being equally uncomfortable, equally free.

Edward Yang’s Yi Yi doesn’t attempt to answer that, but it leaves behind a quiet resonance. A home can be full of love, yet everyone inside still carries a private world of their own. Somehow, the film holds both truths at the exact same time.

That feeling stayed with us. It became the starting point for Arnué × Taigrance. Just one that quietly stays close; like rain outside the window while the rice is still warm.

When the credits roll and the screen goes dark, a specific emotional state settles in - a subtle form of existential disorientation, often described in psychology as a quiet confrontation with one's own inner reality. It is that wordless space between living a life and observing it, a feeling perfectly aligned with Arnué’s search for raw, unsaid human emotions.

This exact feeling inspired Yiyi, created as an exclusive collaboration with Taigrance in Taiwan. Rather than simply trying to retell or illustrate Edward Yang’s cinematic masterpiece, the fragrance captures what lingers after the film ends.

Yiyi mirrors the invisible solitude carried within a family: parents, children, siblings living side by side, yet each holding a vastly different inner world. In moments of quiet exhaustion, we all tend to ask the same unanswerable questions about existence, suffering, and the desire to be truly understood.

This fragrance was crafted to feel like a gentle embrace during those heavy moments. It doesn't offer complex answers, but rather a soft whisper:

"It’s okay. Living is enough. Existing is enough."
