Singha draws inspiration from Taiwanese stone lions, symbols of power, authority, and protection against evil. These majestic stone lions, typically gray in color, often depict a female lion with her cub and a male lion playing with a ball.
In Thai, “Singha” means lion, and it also refers to the month of August (Singhakhom). This name holds special significance for the perfumer, Nutt Wesshasartar, whose birthday falls in August.
Inspired by the cultural fascination and the lore of Taiwan’s stone lions, Singha tells a new story through its scent. Imagine a family of lions living harmoniously in a bamboo forest, with a persimmon tree bearing fruit year-round, and a gentle river flowing through the hills. The lions play and live joyfully, surrounded by nature’s bounty.
Singha opens with the earthy freshness of Galangal and the green vibrancy of Bamboo, blended with the sweet essence of Persimmon, painting a picture of the lions’ forest habitat. As the fragrance evolves, the spicy-sweet notes of Carnation become more prominent, complemented by the floral whispers of Champaca and Jasmine, enhancing the blossoming beauty of Carnation on the skin. A subtle hint of Orchid adds a natural touch to the scent.
As the fragrance settles, the delicate aroma of Green Tea emerges, adding a refreshing lightness, while Oakmoss and Vetiver provide a grounding, moist earthiness that lingers till the end.
Singha is a fragrance that evokes a sense of freshness and vitality, encapsulating the serene and joyful life of a lion family in a lush bamboo forest. Its blend of earthy, green, and floral notes creates a harmonious and refreshing scent, making it a perfect choice for those who seek a unique and culturally inspired fragrance.
