Iris Sura is inspired by the story of a 19th-century whiskey maker and his wife, Elena. She shaped every barrel with her exceptional nose, yet was forbidden from enjoying whiskey inside the saloons they supplied. To honour her, he secretly infused their finest whiskey with precious iris, adding touches of vanilla, oakwood, peach, honey, and walnut—creating something meant only for her.

A very special interpretation of orris—one that honors the true beauty of Orris Butter and natural iris materials without leaning on the usual synthetic ionone-heavy constructions. Instead of relying on alpha, beta, or methyl ionones to recreate that familiar “lipstick iris,” this fragrance is built almost entirely from high-grade natural orris ingredients sourced from highly reputable producers.
The result is a one-of-a-kind composition with a smooth, velvety, white-chocolate and honeyed texture, wrapped around a rich, genuine waxy orris presence. Its opening carries a boozy, oak-aged whiskey aura, offering a soft smokiness and resinous sweetness before settling into its opulent heart which is 90% of the journey of the perfume.

In the late 1800s, a modest whiskey maker and his wife, Elena, ran a small distillery that supplied the town’s busiest saloons. Elena worked beside him each day, her sharp sense of smell guiding the character of every barrel. Yet she could never enjoy their whiskey inside the bars they served—women were forbidden from entering, leaving her passion unseen beyond the distillery walls.
Seeing her quiet longing, her husband chose to create something meant only for her. In secret, he took their finest whiskey and enriched it with precious iris root, adding a soft, graceful glow. He blended in vanilla, oakwood, peach, honey, and walnut, shaping a rare and personal expression of affection.
When he finally shared it with her, its aroma felt like freedom—warm, tender, and entirely hers.
